HONING in on the Chobham BEE – a better experience for everyone – ideal, more than 50 people were treated to a special Autumn/Winter Showcase when a unisex salon opened their doors for a grand girlie get-together on Thursday.
Organised by Cara Bradney, with free bubbly flowing and a constant stream of canapés, guests at owner Leanne Humphries’ Velvet Rooms Hair Boutique in Chobham included Surrey Heath Mayor Beverley Harding, L’Oréal London’s Craig Mason, local business representatives, women from Gordon’s School PTA, charities, St Johns and Camberley WIs, local ladies and regular customers.
Congratulations Cara thanked everyone for being there, adding: “Congratulations to Leanne for passing her wet shave exam with flying colours today.”
Together with Melita Genziani of Melita Boutique, a ladies’ clothes shop a few doors down, the event was to thank loyal clients for their support and to spotlight the latest looks in hair and clothes. Trends from the world’s wild and crazy fashion parades were brought down to earth in the High Street salon’s hair and fashion show using real people to model real styles. Leanne said: “After going to a L’Oréal show in London, we wanted to bring our interpretations from the catwalk to the everyday woman.”
Leanne held the floor with a talk about the new ‘metalic’ hair shades and how to tailor them, while Melita talked the audience through her contemporary and chic line of clothes.
Melita said: “I provide day and night wear and the price range is varied – for example a scarf costs £8.”
After the show, there was lots of girlie fun and advice, where guests got up close and personal with the clothes and demos on their hair. There was a prize draw and everyone went home with a goody bag.
